Going Home*

LETJOG – Day 58, plus 4: Sunday 18 July – INVERNESS to HOME!

The River Ness and Inverness Cathedral, from the Castle

A late start today, and a fine breakfast, before Rachel and I checked out of the Ness Walk Hotel. We then walked along the River Ness, across the Ness Islands, and into the city to look around the centre and the castle. Then we drove out for a short walk around the fortifications of Fort George on the Moray Firth, before making our way to Inverness Airport for our evening flight back to Luton.

So, the end of my adventure is upon us, and this, I’m afraid, needs to be my final daily blog. A very big thank you, once again, to everyone who has followed the blog and to all those who have contacted me with such lovely messages of encouragement – I am most grateful. Also of course, and on behalf of the three charities, Mind, Parkinson’s UK and The Hospice of St Francis, my profound thanks to all those who have contributed so generously. My VirginMoneyGiving page will remain open for another three weeks or so and can be accessed via the Home page on this site, by pressing the blue ‘Donate Now’ button.

I will be posting on this site, in due course, some of the ‘facts and figures’ from my LETJOG walk, once I have the daily walk details loaded onto my spreadsheets at home. I will also let you all have a link to the Spotify Playlist of my walk, for anyone interested – this will comprise all of my daily blog song titles.

Until then:

  2. Many congratulations to you both as I’m sure Rachel you walked most of those steps with Nick from home. Have thoroughly enjoyed sharing your challenge and look forward to buying you a beer or coffee soon. Pat
