With the County Tops of Hertfordshire, Kent, Greater London and East Sussex now completed, I am well under way in my LETJOG Peaks challenge, and I have a couple of announcements to make! Firstly, the unveiling of a customised logo for my venture – please see above, and with due thanks to my son Alistair for putting this together. And secondly, and most importantly, a cause!

Having watched the tragic events in Ukraine unfold, like many others I have wanted to support those suffering on the ground in Ukraine and those forced to flee abroad. The British Red Cross has been at the forefront in providing humanitarian aid in Ukraine, and I have been in touch with their regional manager as to how best to support their efforts as my LETJOG Peaks challenge has come together.
Friends and family, followers of this Blog, and others, have been incredibly generous in donating to the causes supported by my earlier ventures. Accordingly I have been hesitant to ask for more sponsorship and I am pleased just to help in retaining awareness of the plight of those suffering most from the aggression whilst hopefully providing a little interest and entertainment through my walking Blogs. However, quite a number of people have asked me which charity I am backing on my LETJOG Peaks challenge, and so, for those who wish to support their cause, I have today set up a JustGiving page for the British Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal. The sponsorship link can be reached by going into http://www.justgiving.com and entering my name ‘Nick Heath’ into the Search box. Alternatively my donations page can be accessed directly by clicking on this link:
“We’re so grateful for people like Nick, undertaking challenges such as this. The money raised helps us to support people in their times of crisis, and for this we thank you for your support”. Liz Craig, Regional Fundraising Manager – South East, British Red Cross.
From a personal viewpoint, aside from being able to support those in real need, I am delighted to be working with Liz and her team at the British Red Cross, and also to have a worthwhile focus for my efforts when the weather closes in and the walking becomes demanding.
Thank you all for your interest in my venture, and in anticipation for anything you choose to contribute – it is all very much appreciated.
For those who would like to read a little more on the British Red Cross, their website is http://www.redcross.org.uk, and this can be accessed directly by clicking on this link:
Specific information on the British Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal can be found by scrolling down their Home Page and by clicking on the three boxes beneath the heading ‘Ukraine: one year on’. For convenience I have included some content from the site below:

As for my LETJOG Peaks plans, I am looking to complete another County Top later this week, hopefully accompanied by some rather drier spring weather than on my escapades to date! Go well, and see you soon.
