Walking On Sunshine

LETJOG – Day 2: Wednesday 19 May – HAYLE to ST AGNES (19 miles)

Well, who would have thought that a solo trek, 300 miles from home, could prove to be such a social occasion? Another day walking in the wonderful company of Philip, then tea and homemade scones, en route, with good friends Isabelle and Peter (my former Prudential colleague of many years) and dinner together, with our ‘rule of six’ completed by Alice and Caspar, parents to our son Chris’ wife Mima. What a wonderful day! And in such contrast to the social isolation of much of the last 15 months.

All of that within the fabulous scenery of the north Cornwall coast! Philip and I have walked many miles together over the years, but are hard-pressed to remember a much better walking day than this. Sunshine all day, traversing the up-and-down Coast Path, with such amazing distant views of sky, sea, headlands, cliff and beach. And a ‘large trad’ pasty for lunch in Portreath! ‘Nuff said, the photos speak best!

  1. Hi Nick and Philip.

You seem to be having far too much fun, and the pictures make me want to book up a Cornish cottage right now. Do I detect a theme with your blog song titles? If you get stuck for inspiration you could crowdsource some. Maybe ‘Walk 500 Miles’ will come in handy later on.

May the road rise to meet you.
