So, finally, the start of our C2C is nigh, and this afternoon I took the train to Liverpool. A crowded Friday afternoon inter-city journey and inevitable delays notwithstanding, I met up eventually with my brother Tim at Lime Street for the short connection under the Mersey ahead of our rendezvous with Rob at Bebington station. And so our adventure began, with a drink and a laugh or two over dinner at Rob and Christa’s home on the Wirral – thank you both for your fine hospitality!

Reflecting on why we are doing this walk, our aim is to support Parkinson’s UK in raising awareness of the condition, and to raise funds for their medical research projects into treatments and towards a cure. I’d like to thank Rob for inviting me along on this adventure, and for his energy in bringing together all the arrangements. Also to Stephanie, Anita and all their colleagues at Parkinson’s UK for their care and support. Thank you.
Also, it just so happens that the period of our C2C Walk includes Monday 11 April, which is World Parkinson’s Day! Further details on this, and on all the work that Parkinson’s UK undertake, can be found on their website by clicking on the following link:
